The Princess of Wales cut an extremely fashionable figure as she checked out the new V&A East Storehouse in London the other day - but one element of her clothing appeared to break the dress code.

Kate, 43, stepped out for her first engagement of the month - and her very first since returning from the half-term break - in an elegant trouser match by designer Alexander McQueen for the event, along with a white scoop-neck top.

For her devices, the princess went with a trendy belt, Laura Lombardi chain locket, and a pair of smooth black heels from Prada.

But while Kate looked incredibly elegant, technically speaking, she did break a little-known style rule throughout her see with her choice of footwear.

'We advise using useful clothing and flat shoes,' the V&A East Storehouse's website checks out. 'The metal grid floor covering is not suitable for stilettos or kittycat heels.'

However, the princess appeared totally at ease and masterfully handled the uneven floorings, even while wearing a set of challenging heels.

The mother-of-three has consistently made using heels look easy throughout the years - even while playing sports, using pumps on turf and attending horse racing occasions such as Royal Ascot.

In 2012, Kate even used heels to play a game of hockey and, more recently in 2022, kicked a football in heels throughout an engagement with her hubby Prince William.

She even wore her cherished shoe in her very first pictures with Prince Louis in 2018 as she stepped outside the of St Mary's Hospital.
